(final). I don't make the booklets in advance of the tutorial sessions. The booklets are made step by step based on the course progress so they are ready only on the day of the tutorial session. This way I make sure the booklets are complete and useful to students. If you can not attend a tutorial session you can buy a copy of the booklet for that session on the day of the session or afterward.
What to bring? Bring any materials that you have questions about them (they are posted on the WebCT site)
For example any past tests, any IR, H-nmr or C-nmr graphs, any questions from the past quizzes and etc.
Do I need to sign up? Yes, to make sure that I have enough booklets for everybody on the day of the session.
What is involved?
Please read the following information carefully so you can decide that if this tutorial booklet and this tutorial session can help you or not. I want to make sure that you benefit from this tutorial booklet and this tutorial session and it will worth your money and your time.
i-During the mid-term tutorial session I will use made up questions and the questions that the students have sent me in the past few years to cover the materials that the students need for the mid-term exam.
A-At the start of the session I will give students a review practice test with 10-20 questions to measure the students' basic organic chemistry knowledge. Then I will go over the answers.
B-Later I will cover all the topics for the mid-term test by using 80-100 more complex practice questions (a combination of multiple choice and long answer questions). I will explain the answers after each question.
C-At the end I will give students 30 minutes time to take a practice test (a combination of the multiple choice and long answers). I will go over the answers at the end
D-There will be a take home test and students can work on it after the session and I will post the answers on my web site Tuesday night (October 28th/2008) after 10:00 PM.
ii-I will cover the spectroscopy (NMR and IR) questions and problems in details during the tutorial sessions. They can not be covered in details in a tutorial booklet.
iii-I will go over questions from quizzes and
assignments from your class, questions from your text books and
questions asked by the students.
iv-If there is a past test posted on the WebCT, please send it to me before the tutorial session and I will go over it.
v-If any student has any problem with their past quizzes , they can send me the questions before the tutorial session and I will answer their questions during the tutorial session.
vi-I will write down the answers on an
overhead projection so the students can see the answers and copy them.
vii-Complete set of the notes for the tutorial session
